Bulk Billed Skin Cancer Checks

Specialist Skin Checks for Early Detection of Melanoma & Other Skin Cancers

At Knox GP, our experienced doctors offer bulk-billed, full-body skin cancer checks to help detect melanoma and other skin cancers early. That means no out-of-pocket cost for your initial skin check, regardless of whether you hold a concession card. We believe early detection should be accessible to everyone, so we’ve removed the cost barrier entirely.

If a suspicious lesion is found, your doctor will recommend a biopsy or removal. These procedures are booked separately and may incur additional fees.

FAQs

Your initial full-body skin cancer check is bulk billed for all patients, meaning no out-of-pocket cost, regardless of concession status. If further procedures are needed (such as a biopsy or excision), fees are clearly explained before anything is performed. See our pricing section above for a full breakdown.

Anyone concerned about a mole, lesion, or change to their skin should book a check. It’s also recommended for people with a personal or family history of skin cancer, fair skin, a history of sunburn, or those who’ve spent significant time outdoors. Early detection is critical, so iyou’re unsure, it’s always better to get checked.

Your doctor will perform a thorough examination of your skin from head to toe, checking moles and lesions for any signs of concern. The appointment is non-invasive and straightforward. If something suspicious is found, your doctor will explain what they’ve seen and discuss next steps.

A full-body skin check typically takes around 15–30 minutes. If a biopsy is recommended and you choose to have it performed at the same visit, allow a little extra time for the procedure and wound care.

If your doctor identifies a lesion of concern, they’ll explain their findings clearly and recommend next steps, usually a punch biopsy to sample the tissue. Results from pathology are generally available within 1–2 weeks, after which you’ll have a follow-up appointment (bulk billed via Telehealth) to review results and discuss any further management, such as excision or specialist referral.

No referral is needed. You can book directly with Dr Paul Sabeti or Dr Monirul Khan through our website or by calling the clinic.
